Meet the Chef
Todd Sweet is an ACF Certified Executive Chef, is the primary instructor at the Shaker Table School of Cookery. He has been a chef at the Canterbury Shaker Village for two and a half years. Before that, he was a full-time faculty member at the McIntosh Atlantic Culinary Academy in Dover, NH where he was the lead instructor in American Regional Cuisine for three years.
Chef Sweet first stepped into a professional kitchen at age 12 and began a career that has continued for 24 years. He received his formal education at the Culinary Institute of America and his job has taken him around the world, including Paris, Vienna and even on a 5-star cruise ship across the Pacific.
At the Canterbury Shaker
Village, Chef Sweet researches and develops dishes
that follow the Shaker style and spirit of cooking.
He uses the bounty of the Village farms as his inspiration,
and seeks out the best from Shaker recipe collections
to bring to the guests at the Shaker Table.
